JW.org/Watchtower legalism results in Jehovah's Witnesses often having to suppress their finer instincts, even compassion itself. Over the decades Witnesses have even had to "adjust" their theocratic responses to fellow JWs, even family members, who were disfellowshipped. Frequent changes of policy, together with the priority of loyalty over principle, too often result in Witnesses needing judicial rulings where simple compassion and sympathy should suffice.
