Nicholas is not a motivational speaker / inspirational speaker per se, he is an entrepreneur, a social entrepreneur. His ventures focus on people and relationships to improve lives. With Nicholas Speaks, he simply desires to share his experiences in an effort to inspire people to accept themselves, gain confidence and desire to strive to reach their full potential.
Nicholas started Nicholas Speaks six years ago, Nicholas Speaks basically sat idle while he built his primary company MAGIS, he is now in a position to support it and dedicate time. His videos, keynotes, workshops, and newsletter focuses on seven core principles:
• Leadership
• Acceptance
• Relationships
• Success
• Challenges
• Intent
• Empathy
Nicholas's professional success really launched when he started his primary company, MAGIS. He is the founder of MAGIS Residential Service: A community-based provider. MAGIS specializes in precision placements for the Developmentally Disabled Community. The focus is on the long-term benefits for whom it serves. Nicholas started the company to provide better care for the individuals served. Nicholas was working as an in-home provider for an individual with learning disabilities as he was working on Nicholas Speaks. He worked for a larger “Corporate” type service provider, although the rhetoric was all about providing better care for the individual being served, in practicality, it seemed to be just lip-service. So what did Nicholas do? He decided to do something about it and started his own company, Magis Residential Services. He knew he could develop a better service model, but more importantly, better life experience for the individual. He wanted to raise expectations by working with the disabled individual and the providers, expecting more from both.
MAGIS is constantly growing, so much so, Nicholas is finally (4 years from MAGIS’s inception) getting back to his passion for inspiring acceptance. Nicholas now splits his time between Nicholas Speaks and MAGIS.
