Finn, Poe, Rey: The New Jedi Order that Never Was

Finn, Poe, and Rey should have been the New Jedi Order. This simple premise could have played out in a million different ways.

This is a trip down memory lane and a reflection on what a wasted opportunity the Disney Star Wars sequels were ESPECIALLY since the very first trailer of The Force Awakens looked like it would have been a perfect overall approach to the new trilogy. What would that be? What did I think the trailer was implying? Luke rebuilding the Jedi Order! Rey, Finn, and Poe should have been the new padawans. The entire series should have just dealt with the difficulties they faced in becoming Jedi and overcoming their fear. For once we could have seen the differences played out with the Sith’s Rule of Two play out contrasted with the Jedi and their strength coming from standing together. Each Jedi could have had a different approach or understanding of the force and used it in different ways. But no, we are left with a bunch of coulda shoulda beens.
