Hong Kong allows airlines to keep airport slots despite capacity cuts

Hong Kong's Civil Aviation Department said airlines flying to and from Hong Kong will be able to keep their airport slots, even if they temporarily cut capacity through March 2020. Previously, it was tough for airlines to get take-off and landing slots due to the airport's lack of capacity. Months of protests have led to several airlines, including Cathay Pacific and Singapore Airlines, temporarily cutting flights to and from Hong Kong. Meanwhile, low-cost carrier Hong Kong Airlines said it will delay salary payments to some staff as its business has been severely affected by the unrest.
