Breaking News US|Australia ll  Considerate pooch 'Spike' removes rubbish from flooded Mexican street An adorable dog took it upon himself to help with a street clean-up following storms and flash flooding in the city of Monterrey in Mexico.Video captured by a passerbys the pet making himself busy in the north-eastern Mexican state of Nuevo Leon removing rubbish, piece by piece, from fast- moving water in the flooded street. The cute dog, called Spike, reportedly saw residents picking rubbish out of the flooded street and decided to copy them.  The dog is seen in the video happily jumping across the water to collect his first piece of litter.Back on the side of the road he returns quickly to the water and uses his mouth to try and pick up something else.He watches intently and spots a red piece of cardboard which he catches and places neatly on the paving slabs.He then grabs a green cloth which he appears eager to hold onto. Spike briefly moves off camera but returns to continue his rubbish-collecting duties.He continues trying to get his paws on anything that moves in the water and is successful on a number of occasions. The determined white and brown dog doesn't give up and at one point removes a piece of plastic.He fishes out a large piece of paper and an even larger piece of material.  The video pans round at one point to some of the fruits of the dog's labour.   He has a flurry of activity towards the end and places more paper and plastic, of varies sizes, on a mound of debris.'We always have a lot of problems with the drainage system here. Every time it rains, rubbish gathers on the roadside,' Spike's owner Dara Michelle told local media.Michelle said Spike was inspired to act after seeing a group of kids collecting the rubbish.  Share this article Share 'He collected plastic bags, wrappers, tins, anything that was small enough for him to take out of the water with his mouth.' 'Many people wanted our address so they could send Spike food as a thank-you!'
