20th International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women to be observed on Nov 25

The 20th International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women will be observed worldwide on November 25. The theme for 2019 is ‘Orange the World: Generation Equality Stands Against Rape’. Starting November 25, a 16-day worldwide activism campaign against gender-based violence will go underway till December 10. The day is observed every year to raise awareness on the fact that women are subject to rape, domestic violence and other forms of violence around the world. The aim is to eliminate all forms of violence against women and girls by raising the awareness of this issue, in line with the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. Violence against women and girls is reportedly one of the most widespread human rights violations in our world today.
