Knowing how to write an academic summary can be challenging if you've never written one before. To start with, you must include a reference to the original article and author you are summarizing. Then try to find the answers to the interrogative words: who, what, when, where, why and how. You might not be able to address all of them but you should be able to gather enough information to write an overview of what you learned. It is also important to put this in your own words. Borrow the ideas from someone else but make the words your own.
