Still in Virginia Beach looking at some old war birds and today we check out the L-19 from Cessna a.k.a Bird dog. The Cessna L-19 Bird Dog was a liaison and observation aircraft used in the US Air force during the Vietnam war. It was the first all-metal fixed-wing aircraft ordered for and by the United States Army following the Army Air Forces' separation from it in 1947. The Bird Dog had a lengthy career in the U.S. military, as well as in other countries.
The Cessna L-19 have long been out of service in the military, and today they are more of collectible airplanes for the civilian world.
