How to Get an Overseas Employment Certificate (OEC) Before Working in China This is the last hurdle before you board the plane and start working in China, so make sure you have the information you need.

OEC Requirements:
1. Employment contract authenticated by Philippine Embassy in Beijing or the Consulates in Shanghai or Guangzhou.
Advise your employer to download the contract template here:
to make sure it follows the standard required by POEA.

2. Locally notarized business license, company profile, and Chinese Citizen ID authenticated by Philippine Embassy in Beijing or the Consulates in Shanghai or Guangzhou.
Advise your employer that it needs to be translated into English, and notarized by a Chinese notary public before it can be authenticated by the embassy/consulate.

3. Passport
4. Work Visa
5. PRC ID/TEFL/TESOL Certificate
6. Certificate of Employment
7. Resume
8. Notarized affidavit about how you got your job in China
This can be done in at any Notary Public in the Philippines, they usually have a template for this. Just tell them what you need to submit and for what purpose.
9. Certificate/Proof of Insurance/OFW Compulsory Insurance

Check your direct hire clearance status here:


After getting Direct Hire Clearance from POEA:

1. Set up eServices profile
2. Submit medical certificate
(from DOH-accredited clinic)
3. Attend and get certificate for Pre-Employment Orientation Seminar (PEOS)
4. Attend and get certificate for Pre-Departure Orientation Seminar (PDOS)
