A controlled-access highway is a type of highway that has been designed for high-speed vehicular traffic, with all traffic flow ingress- and egress-regulated. Common English terms are freeway (in Australia, South Africa, United States and Canada), motorway (in the United Kingdom, Pakistan, Ireland, New Zealand and parts of Australia) and expressway (parts of Canada, parts of the United States, India and many other Asian countries).

Total length of these 10 Expressways are about 4551 km and Around 1600 km length we already have. Now it becomes about 6150 km includes previous Expressways and these 10 Expressways. Other Expressways are - Delhi-Jaipur Expressway, Bundelkhand Expressway, Gorakhpur Link Expressway, Delhi-Dehradoon Expressway, Biju Expressway, Faridabad-Noida-Ghaziabad Expressway, Amritsar-Jamnagar Expressway, Peripheral Ring Road Bangalore, Mumbai Costal Road, Amravati Outer Ring Road, Kanpur-Lucknow Expressway, Amravati-Anantapur Expressway, Delhi-Chandigarh Expressway, Raipur-Bilaspur Expressway, Nagpur-Hyderabad-Bangalore Expressway, Narmada Expressway, Chambal Expressway, Upper Ganga Canal Expressway, Kurnool-Feeder Expressway, Kadapa-Feeder Expressway, Varanasi-Ranchi Expressway, Delhi-Bilaspur Expressway, Durg-Arang Expressway, Raipur-Vishakhapatnam Expressway, Ambala-Narnaul Expressway, Pathankot-Ajmer Expressway etc. All these Expressways are either Under Construction or Proposed and will be completed by between 2024 to 2028. And after this India will have more than 30000+ km Expressways Network.
