Does the Inergy Kodiak | Apex actually suck? Can it run larger household appliances?

Does the Inergy Kodiak | Apex actually suck? Can it run larger household appliances? A while back Inergy took some heat because they mismatched the components in their products. They put a 1500W continuous inverter in a solar generator that could not provide that much power continuously. It gets hot and shuts itself off. They do not specify this in their product description which is not very honest, but videos can be found on YouTube showing thermal shutdown. Maybe they have upgraded the internal equipment to allow the Apex to run at 1500 watts continuously, but I doubt it. I made this video to show that just because the Kodiak/Apex cannot supply 1500W for more than a few minutes it does still have huge capability. In fact, there has been nothing that has overloaded this thing during normal usage. Obviously a space heater would shut it down but that isn't practical.

I purchased my Kodiak 3 years ago and it was money well spent. HOWEVER, there are better options on the market today that I would choose over an Inergy product. Namely, a Goal Zero Yeti Lithium 1000. Their design overall is much more robust. It can deliver the advertised 1500 watts until the battery is depleted (about 40 minutes). Very impressive!! The downside is that the solar input is less than the Apex. The Yeti is limited to 360 watts in solar input vs 500 watts for the Apex . For 99% of people 360 watts is still plenty of solar input to power their devices and I would absolutely recommend the Yeti 1000 over the Inergy Apex.
