In this video, Dr. B explains the objectives of Experiment 1 (Rates of Chemical Reactions), and describes the strategy for achieving these objectives. In each trial, the time it takes for a specific amount of reactant to be consumed will be measured. By adjusting the concentration of only one reactant, and determining how the reaction rate changes, it will be possible to determine the order with respect to each reactant, the overall reaction order, and the room temperature rate constant for the reaction that will be studied.
