Startups — eSports — Sports Betting: SeventySix Capital is Disrupting Sports Tech Wayne Kimmel, Managing Partner and founder of SeventySix Capital, says his portfolio companies driving innovation and changing the sports industry — for the better. We had the opportunity to learn more about SeventySix Capital when Wayne stopped by the Play+ Media Booth in Las Vegas.

It starts with smart, passionate, nice people → entrepreneurs

SeventySix Capital values its partnerships with companies riding this new wave in the industry, and so far it has been wildly successful at attracting great startups. Yet there’s no secret formula, divulges Kimmel: it starts with the entrepreneur. He explains that his company wants smart, passionate entrepreneurs/partners they believe in, companies that they can add value to.

ShotTracker

One of those businesses is ShotTracker, a company that produces sensor-enabled basketballs that connect with sensors worn by players and anchor sensors in the court rafters, ultimately pulling real-time statistics and custom reports from these trackers for coaches, broadcasters, and soon, bookmakers. “For the first time ever this season, you will have iPads on the bench,” says Kimmel.

Swish Analytics

Another SeventySix Capital-backed startup is Swish Analytics, the most accurate automated prediction system for U.S. sports. They’re rooted in engineering, math, machine learning, and automation, and now they’re an official data distribution partner of Major League Baseball.

VSiN

The Vegas Stats and Information Network is another success story: beyond their popular SiriusXM channel, VSiN now broadcasts 24/7 on their own television station, with 17 hours a day of live content on NESN, MSG Network, and on streaming services like Sling and FuboTV. One of their programs, The Green Zone, gives bettors credible information about where the line is moving and how the odds are changing during live games. Thanks to VSiN, fans can access curated, relevant content all the time, and that’s incredibly exciting.
