In Sims 4, I'm God - Must I Always Be in Charge of Drama and Story for EVERY Sim?

The Sims 4 has given players creative control to an extreme, and this isn't always a good thing. It increases predictability unless you go out of your way to set up the game, and even then you were the decider. I don't always want to be the decider, I'd like to play along as the story unfolds and make choices for my Sims. I'd like them to have preferences in who they date, and want to be friends with this or that Sim. I'd like them to have a type and to be rejected. I hope someday this can happen in this series.
