Historical background of Cooperative Legislation In India and Kerala

I would like to give a brief description on the historical background for the formation of Cooperative Legislation in India as well as in the state of Kerala. The turning point in the cooperative movement in India began with First Cooperative Societies Act of 1904, later it was amended in 1912.
