Shashi Tharoor headed parliamentary panel to take up WhatsApp snooping case today

A parliamentary standing committee headed by Congress leader Shashi Tharoor will take up the Whatsapp snooping case on November 20. 2 parliamentary panels headed by Congress leaders have decided to examine the snooping case. The panels will seek details from top govt officials, including the Home Secretary. Tharoor expresses grave concern on the alleged use of technology for snooping on Indian citizens in a letter to the panel. WhatsApp had earlier admitted to Indian journos and activists being spied upon by unknown people using Israeli spyware Pegasus.
